Do I need to book tours in advance?
Book the long days first. The Kangaroo Island day starts before 7:00 at the bus station, and the small-group wine days seat six to eight. Walks cap at 8 to 12 people, so a weekend market walk is worth booking a few days out.
Which tour should I take on my first day in Adelaide?
A two to three hour walking tour from Pirie Street gives you the city grid, North Terrace and the river before the day trips. The walk-and-Popeye combination adds a cruise on the Torrens at the end.

Which boat tour is best in Adelaide?

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?

Adelaide Central Market trades Tuesday to Saturday: 7:00 to 17:30 on Tuesday, 9:00 to 17:30 on Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00 to 21:00 on Friday and 7:00 to 15:00 on Saturday. It is closed on Sunday and Monday, so the market walks run on trading days only.
How early does the Kangaroo Island tour leave?
Early. The coach days meet at Adelaide Central Bus Station on Franklin Street, and one asks you to arrive by 6:30. The 2-day tour collects from city hotels between 6:15 and 6:35.
Does the Kangaroo Island fare include the ferry?
Yes on the day tours, which run by coach to Cape Jervis and ferry to Penneshaw. On the 2-day tour you can also meet the group at Penneshaw, but then the ferry ticket is yours to buy.
Is there a fuel surcharge on Kangaroo Island tours?
On one day tour, yes. Its operator adds $5 per person per day for bookings from 29 April 2026, so check the total at checkout.
How long does a Barossa day from Adelaide take?
About eight hours door to door. The Barossa is about an hour's drive from the city, and the days leave between 8:45 and 9:30 and are back around 17:30.
Can I take a wine tour if I am staying in the Barossa?
Yes. One small-group day collects from your Barossa accommodation and starts at 10:00 in Tanunda. The Barossa hop-on hop-off bus also boards at the visitor centre in Tanunda at 10:50.
How does a hop-on hop-off wine tour work?
A bus runs a loop between cellar doors and you choose where to get off and how long to stay. The tastings and lunch are paid as you go, which is why the fare is lower than an all-in day.
Are there private wine tours from Adelaide?
Yes. A private Barossa day in a BMW 5 Series seats up to four and is priced per group, not per person. It runs from a half day to a full day, and tastings and lunch are paid at each stop.
What is the ships' graveyard?
Old hulks abandoned in the backwaters of the Port River. The dolphin cruise from Port Adelaide passes them, and one of the kayak tours paddles beside them.
Do the water tours run in bad weather?
Operators can cancel for weather. When they do, you are offered another date or a full refund.
How long is the walking tour?
Two to three hours, from Pirie Street to a bar near the Central Market. The combination with a Popeye cruise runs 2 hours 45 minutes.
Do the food walks include lunch?
Some do. The Taste of Adelaide market walk and the F Factor food walk both list lunch, and the Central Market discovery tour lists tastings, snacks and coffee or tea instead.
What is Cleland Wildlife Park?
A state-run wildlife park at 365 Mount Lofty Summit Road, Crafers, about 20 minutes from the city centre. Most of its animals live in open habitat, and you can hand-feed the kangaroos.
What does the Victor Harbor tour include?
Transport from your Adelaide hotel, with stops at Strathalbyn, the Coorong and Goolwa and two and a half hours at Victor Harbor. Lunch is not included.
Is the River Murray cruise a whole day?
It is a three-hour lunch cruise inside an eight to eight-and-a-half hour Hills day. The day also stops at Mount Lofty Summit, Bridgewater Mill and Hahndorf.
Is there one day that covers Glenelg and Hahndorf?
Yes. The Gems in a Day tour covers the city, Glenelg and Hahndorf in six and a half hours, with pickup from Stamford Plaza, the Pullman or a Glenelg hotel.
